Local foods highlighted at The Tortilla Press this month

tp-logoChef Mark from The Tortilla Press has been using locally grown/raised ingredients for weeks now sine they have become available, but this month, he’s got two events that will highlight local foods.

June 18th will be the first Farm Fresh Dinner of the Season with guest speaker John Ebert, co-owner of Springdale Farms

Starters

Local exotic mushroom empanada with queso cotija & epazote, black bean chile puree

Salad

Springdale grown Boston lettuce, goat cheese, roasted jersey beets & toasted pine nuts with habanera strawberry vinaigrette

Seafood teaser

Pan seared scallops with zucchini & yellow squash in a creamed squash blossom sauce with sautéed Jersey spinach

Entree

Carne asada with grilled jersey scallions with lime, sea salt & roasted baby carrots

Dessert

Fresh Jersey Strawberry & coconut bread pudding

$29.95/person
(excludes tax, gratuity and beverages)

The second event will be from June 22-25 when the restaurant hosts Off The Hook a spotlight on seafood from New Jersey and beyond. The seafood dinners will be accompanied by lots of Jersey fresh produce in the side dishes. The full menu can be viewed here.
