Locavore odds and ends
2009 June 25
- Today is the last day of the Off the Hook restaurant event that many South Jersey restaurants are participating in this week. Lots of local, fresh fish are being served up this week. If you plan on going out to dinner tonight, but you haven’t decided where, click here and consider to support one of these restaurants who are supporting local.
- The East Coast Food and Wine Festival is this weekend at Hopewell Valley Vineyards. I’ll be there on Sunday. I am really looking forward to hearing George Taber, author of Judgment in Paris, speak. And, of course, I’m looking forward to the great food and wine.
- Over on my other blog, A Little Greener Every Day, I’m participating in a “Just $1 for charity event” with 9 other great eco-bloggers. We’re asking readers to vote on one of five charities and then donate just $1 through paypal to be given to the top two charities. Yesterday, on our first day we raised $250, and we hope to raise much, much more over the next two weeks as the word spreads. Would you please consider heading over there and donating just $1?
- One of the other bloggers who is doing the charity event is Wendy Gabriel. She recently interviewed me for The Examiner website, and I got to brag a little about South Jersey Locavore.
- I’m going to be doing a summer slow down on my two blogs so I can spend more time with my boys while they are out of school. Starting next week and for the rest of the summer, I’ll be posting on SJ Locavore on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I may throw in a post willy nilly here and there. I thank you in advance for your patience as I post less – and my boys thank you, too.

Thank you for the mention!
We used to live in Rye, New York (and my husband’s parents live in Philly) and spent many a summer day (or three) at the Jersey Shore. I love it there and miss the ocean!
