Opening dates for farmers markets in June
Last month, a handful of farmers markets opened up, but the majority of markets in South Jersey will open this month. Here is a list by county – the dates are from the NJ Department of Agriculture site. The links are to the best info I could find on the markets on the web. I was surprised to see how many of the markets have no web presence at all.
Atlantic County
Hammonton Farmers Market – June 26-September 11. Fridays at Rt.54 & Front Street, 4pm-8pm.
Jersey Fresh Farmers’ Market at Smithville - June 25 – September 26. Fridays at Smithville on the Village Green, 11am-3pm.
Margate Farmers’ Market – June 25 – August 27. Thursdays at corner of Monroe & Amherst (parking lot of Steve & Cookies By the Bay Restaurant), 9am-1pm.
Camden County
Camden Community Farmers’ Market – June 26 – November 6. Fridays (except July 4) at Broadway & MLK Blvd, 10am-5pm.
Farmers Market at the Transportation Center in Camden – June 23 – November 3. Tuesdays on Broadway Ave at Walter Rand Transportation Center Court Yard, 10am-3pm.
Cape May County
Ocean City Farmers and Crafters Market – June 25 – August 27. Wednesdays on the Tabernacle Grounds at 6th Street and Asbury Avenue, from 8am-1pm.
Stone Harbor Farmers Market - June 28 – September 6. Sundays at 95th Street Water Tower Parking Lot, 8am-noon.
West Cape May Farmers Market – June 30 – September 1. Tuesdays at 732 Broadway, Borough Hall Back Yard Park, 3pm-8pm.
Cumberland County
Bridgeton Riverfront Farmers’ Market – June 19 – August 28. Friday’s between Broad & Commerce Streets, from 10am-2pm.
Vineland Farmers Market – June 20 – August 16. Saturday’s on the 700 block of Landis Avenue next to Taste of the Island restaurant, 11am-3pm.
Gloucester County
Woodbury Farmers’ Market – June 18 – October 1. Thursdays between Cooper & E. Barber St along rail road parking lot, 2pm – 6pm.
Ocean County
Barneget Farmers Market – June 25 – ?. Thursdays at Barneget Municpal Lot by Gazebo Park, 12pm-5pm.
Calgo Gardens Farmers Market – June 12 – October. Fridays at 84 Cross Street, Lakewood, 11am-4pm.
Seaside Park Farmers’ Market – June 22 – September 7. Mondays at J Street & Central Avenue (Seaside Park Marina Field), 11am-5pm.
South Toms River Farmers Market – June 9 – October. Tuesdays at Mathis Plaza – Rt. 166 in Toms River, 10am-6pm.
Toms River Farmers’ Market – June 10 – October 28. Wednesdays at Huddy Park on Water Street, Toms River, 11am-5pm.
Waretown Farmers Market - June 23 – September 8. Tuesdays at Waretown Recreation Area, Rte 532, 12pm-5pm.

Barnegat is having one this year, starting on June 25th and happening every Thursday. It’s going to be located right on Route 9.

Hello
I want to begin making better food choices and I would like to begin by supporting my local farmers market. The closest one located near me that I know of is on the Blackhorse Pike in Williamstown NJ. (I believe that is Williamstown)
The biggest problem I have encountered is that it closes too early for working people. It is such a mad rush to try to support them and depending on what you buy they can be very expensive. I don’t mind the extra expense if they were just more available. I don’t live too far from the area (about 20 minutes away) but wish they would at least extend their hours to about 7PM.
Does anyone know of any Farmers Markets that have extended hours and are open all year?
