A locavore’s Christmas wish list
2009 December 21

Here is my Christmas wish list. I know some of it is really impractical, but these are wishes.
- The Collingswood Farmers market open year round.
- A kitchen that more than one person can work comfortably in at a time.
- A Le Creuset Dutch Oven and the space in my kitchen to store it.
- A really sunny window in my home where I could grow herbs throughout the winter.
- Alice from the Brady Bunch. Hey, Mrs. Brady didn’t even work and she got to have Alice. I wouldn’t even make Alice cook. She would just clean up after my cooking, do my laundry and clean my bathrooms. Maybe she could learn to straighten my hair once in a while, too… but I digress.
An my biggest wish as a locavore this Christmas…
- The ability for everyone around the world to be able to grow food and have food security. And, since that is not likely to happen, for those who are proponents of locavorism to understand that while it’s a good thing for our health and the health of the earth, it’s not possible for everyone and it’s not the only answer to all our food problems.
