Advice on when to plant vegetable seeds
The other day I mentioned I was going to try planting some early vegetables, and Alison Kerr who writes the great blog Loving Nature’s Garden left a comment. She then e-mailed me and pointed me to a post that she wrote on when to plant certain vegetable seeds based on four categories – hardy, moderately hardy, frost sensitive and frost intolerant. The post has examples of the different types of seeds that are in each category.
It’s a very helpful piece, and I encourage you to pop on over and read it if you’re considering planting early this year. After the long, cold, snowy, gray winter we had here in South Jersey and the Northeast region, I know many of us are longing to get outside and dig in the dirt even more than usual. I certainly am.
