Iron Cupcake Challenge wrap-up
The call came out from Kati Angelini on Twitter. She needed judges to judge cupcakes for a charity event. Hmmmmm…. Eat cupcakes? For charity? Count me in. So on May 23rd I headed to the Healthy Garden Restaurant in Moorestown to taste a few cupcakes.
Eighteen. There were eighteen cupcakes all decorated to celebrate animals. They were all good, but I have to confess – by the end I was feeling quite ill. Still, I’m glad I had the opportunity to judge the contest, help earn some money for Animal Welfare Association of NJ (where my own cat came from), and meet Kati and the judges.
The event raised about $150 in cash donations for The Animal Welfare Association as well as donations of sheets, cardboard, paper towels, glass jars and more much needed shelter items.
The animals weren’t the only winners at the challenge. Six Iron Cupcake bakers – 3 in the junior division and 3 in the adult division walked away with prizes.

1st Place-Crystal West “Moo-Moo CupCakes”
2nd Place-Joshua Pipe “Adopt-Me Cupcakes”

2nd Place-Lina Querry- “The Bee’s Knee’s Cupcakes”
