Wilmington, DE will be celebrating food and wine this weekend with the MidAtlantic Wine + Food Festival. The festival will benefit the arts in Delaware and feature international chefs and winemakers in addition to acclaimed regional chefs at 44 events in and around the Brandywine Valley and coastal Delaware, March 6 through 10, 2013.
The festival village will be located in Rodney Square in downtown Wilmington and housed in a 10,000 square foot, heated tent. Tickets for the village are $25 – $30 for a three hour session (or $100 for a full weekend), where visitors will have access to tastings of wine and food, entertainment, chef demonstrations and more. Separately ticketed events for special wine & spirits tastings and exclusive dinners and will be held all around the region.
It doesn’t look as if any local wineries will be featured at the festival, but it does seem as if local foods will be. I plan on hitting the festival village on Sunday afternoon to get a look around and discover some new wines and foods.
