Just a few quick items today. I have a lot of writing to do, but I didn’t want to let you miss out on any of the following.
- Get to the farmers market to load up on ingredients for whatever you’d like to make for the next South Jersey Swappers Food Swap. The swap will take place on Tuesday, June 25 from 7-9 pm at One Flew Over the Farm in May’s Landing. Registration is free, but space is limited. Register on Eventbrite asap if you want to attend.
- The Glassboro Vintage South Jersey Wine Festival is this Saturday and Sunday from noon-5 each day. Your ticket gets you access to tastings from 14 local wineries and live entertainment. There is also the option to purchase bottles of wine, gourmet food and items from unique vendors.
- I reviewed the Buycott app on Mother Nature Network earlier this week. One of the things the app can do is scan foods at the grocery store and let you know if the company that owns the brand spends their money on things you agree or disagree with. So, if you want GMO labeling of foods, the app can tell you if the brand’s company gives money to support GMO labeling or gives money to fight GMO labeling. The new app has some glitches, but once those glitches are worked out, it will be a great tool to help you vote with your dollars.
- Today is the final day of Eating in South Jersey’s 5th anniversary celebration. They’re giving away an overnight stay at Harrah’s and a $75 credit to Luke Palladino’s restaurant inside the casino. If you want to enter the giveaway, you have to make a comment on their blog TODAY.
That’s it. Have a wonderful weekend!
